A Little About Lake Jesup
Lake Jesup lies just 20 minutes from Orlando, Florida (approximately 45 minutes from Disney World-area hotels), in the heart of Seminole County along the middle basin of the St. Johns River, which encompasses an area of approximately 10,000 acres and a circumference of 28 miles that eventually connects with the St. Johns River.
This 100,000-year-old lake is home to well over 10,000 alligators – the largest concentration of these magnificent creatures in any lake in the United States. Wild boars, bobcats and birds, including Bald Eagles, also call Lake Jesup home. In addition to its abundant wildlife, Lake Jesup is also rich with artifacts from the native Seminole tribes.
